Packaged as part of SuSE 5.3.
Packaged as part of Suse 6.2. Package name is “crosfire”. Reports version of 0.93.5, Release 68. Build date is July 22, 1999. Source RPM is crosfire-0.93.5-68.src.rpm.
The manpage may be out of date, as it reports version 0.93.1.
This version has network support, but by default launches a gui window directly. Commandline flags can be used to control server behavior, notably “-server”.
This version defaults to using XBM monochrome graphics, with colored tint. In XBM mode, only one image can render on a tile at a time, since there is no transparency. using the commandline flag “-xpm” will make it use color XPM graphics, though it may be slow to load (takes several seconds on a 66mhz CPU)
