Crossedit Main Editor Menu

When crossedit starts, it just shows a simple greenish item selection menu.

File Submenu

  • New - Creates a new window with the window title “Edit /Noname”
  • Open - Creates a new window with the title “File Select”
  • Crossfire - Starts the crossfire server if it is located in the PATH
  • Quit - Exits the editor

Info Submenu

Looks for text files found in the {prefix}/share/crossfire/doc directory.

The documentation is build by make archive after make when compiling the server source code.
The documentation pkg is named “ crossfire-VERSION.doc.tar.gz ” and would create a directory
named “ crossfire-doc ” when being extracted,
which then needs either being renamed to simply “ doc ” or symbolic linked to it from “ doc ” .

Arch Submenu

Selecting “all” and “toggle” shows no items

  • all - Shows all selectable items
  • toggle - Toggles on / off the entries below
  • monster - Monsters and generators
  • exit - Pits, buildings, doors, transport,
  • treasure - Random treasure, chest, sarcophagus container
  • background - Magic mouth, bridges, floors, streets, piers, rivers
  • door - Slot machines, altars, doors, keys, buttons
  • special - Slot machines, directors, spinners, runes, bullet walls, altars, triggers
  • shop - Shop interior, buildings
  • normal - Books, signs, furniture, boulder, cauldrons, containers, floor attributes
  • false wall - Weak walls, windowed walls, gated walls
  • wall - Walls, hedges, fences
  • equipment - Armour and weapons
  • other - Horns, rings, amulets, books, scrolls, minerals, food, flesh
  • artifact - Artifact armour and weapons

Pick Submenu

Creates a sub window for the following sub menus:

  • shops - Shop buildings and shop interior
  • TownStaff - Buildings and transport
  • alchemy - Potions, minerals, gems
  • food-bparts - Food and flesh
  • rivers - Rivers and bridges
  • artifacts - Horn of Plenty, Dragonslayer, etc
  • town - similar to outdoors
  • monsters3 - as monsters and monsters2
  • exits - Doors, stairs, cave entrance, holes, weak walls
  • equipment - Armour and weapons
  • alltown - Town buildings like cathedral, shop, prison
  • indoors - Furniture, ground, doors, exits, stairs, altars
  • special - Buttons, handles, grates, directors, traps, bulletwalls
  • readables - Scrolls, books, signs
  • outdoors - World map buildings, transport, terrain
  • monsters - Low level monsters, a few high level
  • monsters2 - Many monsters of various size, generators
  • items - Random items, furniture, doors, keys, books
  • lakes - Falls, ponds, lakes
  • background - Various in and outdoor, signs, shelves
  • runes - Trap runes
  • classes - Player's class figure
  • other - Cave walls

Walls Submenu

  • wall-special - 1/2, 1/4 walls
  • caves2 - Same as Pick > other
  • wall - Fences, walls
  • misc - World map items like towns, lakes, streets
  • caves - Cave walls
