Mana(Sp)

Mana represents the magical energy or spell points of a character or how big a spell or how many times you can cast a spell. Mana is based on of the wizard's innate power (POW) but may be increased through his skill in specific schools of wizardry. Mana recharges slowly based on a players mana regeneration rate.

Max Mana

If a player does not have any wizardry skills, then their max sp is always 1 .
Otherwise Mana is calculated based on a players POW and INT
and the highest level in a Wizardry Skill or “Best Wizardry Level”
e.g. A player with level 10 in Pyromancy but level 15 Evocation would get 15 .

A character's maximum mana can be defined by:

- If Best Wizardry Level is at or below level 10

Max Mana = (((2 x the Power Bonus) + the Intelligence Bonus)) x (Best Wizardry Level + 1)/3) + Best Wizardry Level

- If Best Wizardry Level is above level 10

Max Mana = (((2 x the Power Bonus) + the Intelligence Bonus) x 11/3) + (2 x (Best Wizardry Level - 10)) + 10

Therefore, using the below table, a player with level 15 evocation, 15 POW and 20 INT, would have:

Max Mana = (((2 x 1) + 2.25) x 11/3) + (2 x (15 - 10)) + 10
Max Mana = ((2 + 2.25) x 11/3) + (2 x 5) + 10
Max Mana = ((4.25) x 11/3) + (2 x 5) + 10
Max Mana = 16 + 20
Max Mana = 36 mana

From old handbook

Mana (Sp) A character will gain the following number of Sp for each new magic experience category level gained between levels 1-10:

(MgB(POW))/2 + D3 + D3 + 1 every even level if MgB is even.

Where D3 is a random number between 1 and 3 and you always get 1 mana gained per new level. For magic levels past the 10th, mana grows 2 per level.
